The apparatus provides one or two needles (5, 6; 5', 6') carried by a needle support 7 and movable thereon substantially parallel to one of the bale faces to traverse the latter, with the path travelled by the or one needle lying close to or just under said face to reach under the baling wires holding together the bale. The wires may be wound onto the needles on rotating the latter, the wires being severed by shears 21,22. The needle support is pivotable and provided with a stop 23 so that when the winding operation is over the resultant ball of wire is stripped by retraction of the needles passed the stop. In another embodiment (Figure 2), a magnet 32 is provided to raise the wires after severing to facilitate disposing of one of the needles therebeneath. The needles are held by upper and lower chucks 33,33' so that the needles can be shifted laterally together to clamp the wires therebetween. The shears may then be omitted or shearing elements provided on the needles (Figure 3). In another embodiment (Figure 6) a single needle is provided with a lateral lug 37' which clamps the severed wires on a rotatable needle receiving plate 9' on lowering of the needle. In another embodiment (Figure 4), lugs on opposed needles clamp the severed wires. A rake 41 (Figure 5) may be provided to strip waste from the wires. <IMAGE>

The invention relates to the field of unpacking products, in particular, to devices for removing binding wires from a bale, mainly of metal.
The aim of the invention is to increase the reliability of operation.
The installation of the pins of the device for gripping the wires with the possibility of reciprocating movement and rotational movement increases the reliability of the capture and removal of wires.

A device for removing binding wires from a bale comprises a feed conveyor I, a cutting mechanism and a device for gripping the wire including one 2 or 3 pin. The capturing device is equipped with a noBopoia mounted stand 4 with brackets 5. The pins 2 and 3 are mounted vertically in the brackets 5 with the possibility of reciprocating movement from the drive 6 to move at least half the bale thickness in the vertical with possible interaction rot with external or kicked - wire surface. Pins 2 and 3 can be installed parallel to each other, and the device for gripping the wire can be provided with a clamp 7 installed at the bottom of the device for pins 2 and 3 and a drive 8 for transmitting rotational motion to them. mounted on the bracket 5 of the rack 4. A device for gripping wires can be equipped with clamping chucks 11, and the pins 2 and 3 are placed in the latter to move them against one another to clamp the wire. One of the pins 2 can be installed in the upper part of the rack, and the other pin 3 at the bottom, while their free ends are placed one towards the other, and the vertical axes are coaxial or offset one relative to the other by a distance equal to the diameter of the pin. The pins 2 and 3 can be fitted with clamping jaws 12 installed at their ends to clamp the wire. One of the pins may be equipped with a pointed edge located along the pin to interact with the other pin to create the counter support. A pin 13 can be attached to the pins to remove the paper.
The device works as follows
The bales of waste paper serves feed conveyor 1 to the working section of the device. The pins 2 and 3 are positioned above the pile with the aid of a rack 4. The scissors 9 are then activated and the wire from the side of the pile opposite the pin m is cut. Then the pins 2 and 3 by means of the actuator 6 are moved inside the bale from the outer and inner sides of the wire, after the switch the actuator 8 is turned on and the winding process begins, during which the wires are wound around the pins. When supplying a gripper with clamping chucks 1, the pins clamp the wire between themselves. This is good for tying cellulose bales from which it is impossible to dig them. In this case, after cutting the wire with scissors 9, it is lifted from the surface of the bale with a magnet 10, and then pins are made and rolled up.

1. A device for removing binding wire from a bale, preferably a bale of rhombic form, containing a feed conveyor, a cutting mechanism and fixture
for gripping the wire, including one or two pins, distinguished by the fact that, in order to increase reliability, the device for gripping the wire is equipped with a pivotally mounted stand with brackets, and the pins are mounted in brackets vertically with the possibility of reciprocating drive movement to vertically move at least half the bale thickness with the possibility of interaction with the outer or inner surface of the wire.
